Hollywood’s iconic horror franchise returns with Scream 7, bringing a chilling blend of fear, mystery, and nostalgia for horror fans worldwide. The film is scheduled for global release on 27 February 2026, including the United States and several international markets. On the same day, the movie will also premiere in Bangladesh at Star Cineplex.
Scream 7 is the seventh installment of the legendary Scream franchise, which began in 1996 and has maintained its cult status among horror-thriller lovers for nearly three decades. The film serves as the sequel to Scream 6 (2023), continuing the legacy of the iconic slasher series that blends psychological tension, mystery, and brutal suspense.
For the first time, series creator and original writer Kevin Williamson takes full charge as director, marking a historic moment for the franchise. The film stars Neve Campbell in her iconic role as Sidney Prescott, alongside Jasmine Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, David Arquette, Matthew Lillard, and Courteney Cox. Several familiar faces from previous installments also return, strengthening the emotional continuity of the series.
Storyline
Sidney Prescott has rebuilt her life in the quiet town of Pine Grove, Indiana, seeking peace away from her traumatic past. However, the calm is shattered when a new Ghostface killer targets her daughter, Tatum. Forced to confront her past once again, Sidney must face old traumas and new horrors to end the cycle of violence forever.
Roger L. Jackson reprises his legendary role as the voice of Ghostface, while David Arquette returns as Dewey Riley, a survivor of the original killings and former husband of Gale Weathers.
Production Journey
After creative shifts and cast changes in 2023, the project went through major restructuring. Kevin Williamson was officially appointed director, with Neve Campbell confirming her return to the franchise in March 2024. Filming began in January 2025 and wrapped in March 2025.
Box Office Outlook
According to industry reports published on 5 February 2026, Scream 7 is projected to achieve a massive opening weekend performance, potentially becoming the second-highest opening in the franchise, following Scream 6’s $44.4 million domestic debut. Franchise fans speculate that this may be the final chapter, though future sequels remain possible if the film achieves major commercial success.
With its mix of classic slasher elements, modern storytelling, emotional depth, and psychological horror, Scream 7 promises to deliver a powerful cinematic experience for both longtime fans and new audiences.
