Dhaka Ahsania Mission has taken initiative to increase awareness among the inmates and prison officials about HIV and AIDS transmission. Online HIV awareness training for prison officials and employees has started on 18th November 2021 under the “Prevention of HIV amongst the Most at Risk Prisoner in Bangladesh” program implemented by the Department of Prisons and Dhaka Ahsania Mission and supported by the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC). The real owners of the land made the demand in a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the capital on October 28, 2021, demanding the arrest of the land grabbers and the return of the evicted lands and fish farms in the Khalishakhali area of Debhata Upazila in Satkhira district. Despite the current ‘Smoking and Tobacco Products Usage (Control) Act, 2005’ prohibiting the advertisement and promotion of tobacco products, there is no specific prohibition on the display of tobacco products in point of sales (POS). By misusing this loophole of the act, the tobacco companies are promoting and expanding tobacco products through product displays in the sales centers.
