97 MPs recommend Cabinet Secretary take action to increase tobacco prices

In a letter to the Finance Minister initiated by the ‘Bangladesh Parliamentary Forum for Health and Wellbeing (BPFHW)’ to prevent non-communicable diseases and create additional revenue opportunities, 97 MPs have recommended an increase taxes and prices of all types of tobacco and tobacco products. As part of this, the forum has informed Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam and recommended taking action regarding this. A copy of the letter signed by 97 MPs has been placed to Khandker Anwarul Islam at Cabinet Secretary's Office. A total of 97 Members of Parliament (MPs) has been signed a letter to protect public health to the finance minister recommending increase taxes and prices of all kinds of tobacco products including cigarettes in the 2022-23 final national budget. It will be possible to save innumerable people from premature death and to keep away from using tobacco uses if this recommendation is implemented. Also earning additional revenue will be possible. Bangladesh International Arbitration Centre (BIAC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with A.S & Associates for resolution of Commercial Dispute (if any) using ADR methods.
