DHS Motors brings Chinese ‘GAC’ brand cars to the domestic market

DHS Motors Limited added another international brand into its portfolio through the premiere of Chinese brand GAC. GAC is the fifth largest auto manufacturer from China. In addition to their own vehicles, GAC is also the joint venture partners of Honda and Toyota in China. On Thursday morning, the renowned brand was revealed at the Dhaka Motor Show at ICCB. Garments Worth Tk 4 million Recovered Along with Stolen Covered Van Using Carcopolo Tracker

A covered van loaded with garments for export was in route to Chattogram Seaport when it was hijacked in Sitakunda by a group of youths. However, since the van was equipped with a Carcopolo GPS tracker, Sitakunda police were able to recover both the van and garments worth approximately Tk 4 million in a short time. The stolen goods were recovered on Saturday, April 12. According to police, on Friday, April 11, a shipment of garments in 1,564 cartons—valued at around Tk 4 million—left from Dip Knitwear Garments in Gazipur for export to the Netherlands via Chattogram Port. BRAC Bank posts excellent set of results in 2024 underpinned by strong balance sheet growth

BRAC Bank achieved a 73% (year-over-year) growth in its Net Profit After-Tax (NPAT) on a consolidated basis for 2024 amid challenging market conditions. The bank's consolidated financials, which include all its subsidiaries, showed an NPAT of BDT 1,432 crore in 2024, a significant increase from the BDT 828 crore reported in 2023. BRAC Bank stand-alone 2024 NPAT was BDT 1,214 crore, representing a 66% increase from the previous year's BDT 730 crore. Despite the stressed industry conditions, the Bank delivered strong balance sheet growth, significantly ahead of market average growth rates - with customer deposits growing by 34% and loans and advances increasing by 20%.
