Shimanto Bank PLC has donated a microbus to Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST). The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shimanto Bank PLC, Mr. Md. Nurul Azim, handed over the microbus to the Vice-Chancellor of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology, Professor Md. Khairul Islam, Phd. Sector Commander (Sylhet) of Border Guard Bangladesh, Colonel Mohammad Salahuddin, psc, along with deans of various faculties, the registrar, transport administrator, provosts, director of accounts, assistant proctors, and other university officials, as well as senior officials from the bank, were present during the event.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, SUST Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Md. Khairul Islam stated, “The microbus will add a new dimension to the university’s administrative and educational communication. This initiative by Shimanto Bank is highly commendable.” Praising the bank’s nation-wide positive activities, he added, “Our students are extremely talented; they will be capable and eager to work on implementing the forward-looking banking and technology plans you are envisioning.” In his speech, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Shimanto Bank PLC, Mr. Md. Nurul Azim, expressed his hope to expand the scope of the bank’s social welfare and banking activities in the future, play a leading role in the welfare of the university, and further enhance the mutual relationship between the bank and the university.
