The second edition of ‘Cosmetica Dhaka 2026’ is set to begin on September 3 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Kuril, Dhaka, aiming to showcase the growing potential of Bangladesh’s rapidly expanding cosmetics, personal care, and hygiene products market to local and international investors and entrepreneurs. The three-day event will continue from September 3 to 5.
Alongside Bangladesh, renowned cosmetics brands, manufacturers, suppliers, retailers, and health and beauty experts from 16 countries, including South Korea, Thailand, and India, will participate in the exhibition. The three-day event will feature more than a hundred product stalls, live demonstrations, beauty consultations, discussions with skincare experts, and networking opportunities for entrepreneurs.
At present, alongside major multinational companies, local entrepreneurs have also established a strong presence in Bangladesh’s cosmetics, toiletries, and personal care sectors. The growing presence of local brands, coupled with increasing investment in product diversity, quality, packaging, and technology-driven manufacturing, is creating new opportunities in the market. Rising demand for affordable products is also enabling local brands to expand their market share, while the presence of major multinational companies is making the sector increasingly competitive.
Against this backdrop, the cosmetics industry offers significant investment opportunities in local raw material production, advanced manufacturing technologies, quality control, research and development, sustainable packaging, and export-oriented manufacturing. Increasing local production capacity for raw materials and other inputs could help reduce import dependency, control production costs, and enhance Bangladesh’s competitiveness in international markets. At the same time, quality cosmetics and personal care products manufactured in Bangladesh have the potential to reach South Asian and other regional markets.
According to industry sources, the current market size of cosmetics, toiletries, and personal care products in Bangladesh is more than BDT 350 billion. Earlier, a study by the Bangladesh Trade and Tariff Commission (BTTC) estimated the market size of cosmetics and hygiene products at more than BDT 340 billion. Driven by growing skincare, haircare, colour cosmetics, fragrances, grooming, and hygiene products, the market continues to expand every year.
Alongside this market growth, there is also significant potential for local manufacturing and investment. Cosmetics and toiletries are among the priority industrial sectors under the investment framework of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA). There is considerable scope to increase investment in local manufacturing, modern technologies, research and development, quality control, packaging, and export-oriented production.
Tanzin Sultana Priyanka, Managing Director of the organising company SquadMind Global Limited, said, “Bangladesh’s cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, and personal care sectors have now emerged as promising industries with significant growth potential. This year’s Cosmetica Dhaka will not only showcase cosmetics, skincare, fragrance, personal care, and hygiene products, technologies, and services, but will also create opportunities for business networking and investment. One of our key objectives is to highlight the potential of Bangladesh’s cosmetics and personal care industry on the international stage.”
This year’s exhibition will also provide opportunities for business networking and investment alongside the display of cosmetics, personal care and hygiene products, technologies, and services from different countries. The organizers hope that the exhibition will contribute to attracting new investment, facilitating technology transfer, and creating international partnerships in Bangladesh’s promising cosmetics and personal care industry.
The exhibition will remain open to all visitors from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM each day.
