Shamima Akter Lovely joined National Bank PLC as Senior Executive Vice President (SEVP) and Head of Human Resources (HoHR) on Monday, August 10, 2026, bringing more than 24 years of leadership experience in all facets of human resources. Ms. Shamima has extensive experience in organizational restructuring, workforce optimization, talent and performance management, compensation & benefits, HR technology, learning and development, employee relations, and change management.
Prior to joining National Bank PLC, she served as Head of Human Resources at Shimanto Bank PLC. Her distinguished career also includes senior leadership roles at IDLC Finance Limited, Velwire Ltd., Avery Dennison Bangladesh Ltd., Heidelberg Cement Bangladesh Ltd., Concern Bangladesh, and Square Fashions Limited (Sister concern of Square Group).
She holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Dhaka, along with a Postgraduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from the Institute of Personnel Management (IPM).
She has also participated in various national and international executive development programmes in Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, India, and Hong Kong.
Her leadership was recently recognized with the distinguished South Asian Women Leadership Awards 2026 in the Human Resources category. She also received the Global Star Women’s Award 2025 for her outstanding contribution to the Banking and Finance sector.
