Renowned for her captivating dance performances, glamour, and international-standard stage presence, actress Cindy Rolling has long been regarded as one of the leading performers of item songs in Bangladeshi cinema. Cindy received widespread appreciation from audiences for her performance in the recently released film ‘Masud Rana’. Many even credit her with pioneering internationally styled item numbers in Bengali films.
After a long hiatus, Cindy Rolling is making her return to the big screen with two new item songs. She will be performing in an item number for filmmaker Walid Ahmed’s upcoming film ‘Jiboner Khela’, as well as another new feature film. Adding a personal touch to both productions, Cindy is also designing the costumes for the two songs herself, promising audiences a fresh and distinctive visual experience.
Cindy said, “Although I have previously worked with Shakib Khan and Arifin Shuvoo, ‘Jiboner Khela’ marks my first collaboration with actor Shajal. I am delighted that director Walid Ahmed has placed his trust in me. In every film I have worked on, I have paid close attention to styling and have actively contributed to my creative team. I also choreographed the item songs in ‘Common Gender’ and ‘Chorabali’ myself. This time, I want to present something entirely new.
“I have recently received an overwhelming response from audiences for my performance in ‘Masud Rana’. Likewise, viewers continue to appreciate my work in ‘Megher Kopat’, ‘Super Hero’, ‘Common Gender’, ‘Chorabali’, and ‘Kistimat’. Their continued love inspires me to take on even bigger challenges. I am currently preparing for the two item songs in ‘Jiboner Khela’ and another upcoming film, and I hope audiences will see me in a completely new avatar.”
It is worth mentioning that Cindy Rolling made her big-screen debut through an item song in director Noman Robin’s ‘Common Gender’. She later impressed audiences with another memorable item number in Redoan Rony’s acclaimed film ‘Chorabali’, featuring music composed by renowned musician Fuad Al Muqtadir. Her item song in ‘Kistimat’, starring Arifin Shuvoo, also became widely popular among moviegoers.
Cindy’s work has also received international recognition. ‘Common Gender’, in which she appeared, was officially selected for the Golden Globe Film Festival. In 2024, she won the Best Actress Award at the Suchitra Sen Film Festival in New York for her performance in ‘Megher Kopat’.
