The School of Business and Economics (SoBE), United International University (UIU) successfully organized the “SoBE Project Show” yesterday at the UIU campus, United City, Madani Avenue, Dhaka-1212. The show served as a launch pad for undergraduate students to showcase their ground-breaking business concepts, tangible prototypes, and the comprehensive legal frameworks required to launch successful enterprises in today’s competitive landscape.
Professor Emeritus Dr. M. Rezwan Khan, Director, IAR and Former VC of UIU, Prof. Dr. M Niaz Asadullah, Advisor – Adjunct, School of Business and Economics, UIU, Prof. Dr. Salma Karim, Director, BBA Program, UIU and other faculty members from different departments were present in the project show. The leadership team toured the exhibition stalls, engaging directly with student teams, evaluating their pitches, and offering valuable industry insights. The success of the Project Show underscores UIU SoBE’s continuous efforts to foster an entrepreneurial ecosystem within the university and contribute to the nation’s economic growth.
The exhibition was the culmination of rigorous, hands-on coursework from two flagship courses within the department: Entrepreneurship and Business Plan Development taught by Ms. Nasrin Akter, Assistant Professor and Business Law taught by Mr. Jakowan, Assistant Professor, SoBE, UIU. By fusing these two disciplines, the event challenged students to not only dream up viable, market-ready business models but to also navigate the complex legal compliance, licensing, and regulatory steps essential for real-world execution.
This project showcased the bridge between theoretical knowledge and practical entrepreneurial activities, extending beyond traditional classroom-based learning. It also highlights the relentless efforts of the School of Business and Economics of UIU to prepare students not only as job seekers but also as future entrepreneurs.
