144 Acres of Forest Land in Purbachal Freed from Illegal Occupation, 155 Houses Demolished

Following the directive of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, a major eviction drive was carried out today in the biodiversity-rich area of Purbachal. During the operation, 4.6 acres of illegally occupied land were recovered out of the total 144 acres under encroachment. A total of 155 illegally built houses belonging to 44 families were demolished. The estimated market value of the recovered land is approximately BDT 70 crore. As a result of this operation, the entire 144 acres of forest land in Purbachal have now been declared free from illegal occupation.
