Marking World Teachers’ Day 2025, the Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust, in association with ATN Bangla, organized a discussion and award ceremony titled “Ongoing Crisis and Solutions in the Education Sector” to recognize outstanding contributions in education.
During the event, two distinguished educationists — Professor Dr. ABM Obaidul Islam, Vice Chancellor of Bangladesh Open University, and Professor Dr. Farid Ahmed Sobhani, Vice Chancellor of Eastern University — were honored with Lifetime Achievement Awards for their remarkable dedication and impact in the field of education.
The ceremony, held at ATN Bangla’s studio on Wednesday (October 15), was jointly organized by ATN Bangla’s “Somoyer Sathe” and the Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust.
Principal Noor Alam Talukder, Managing Director of Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust and Director of Palli Sanchay Bank, handed over the commemorative mementos to the awardees. The event was also attended by Md. Khalilur Rahman, Program Director of ATN Bangla’s “Somoyer Sathe” and Editor of Education Watch.
The award recipients expressed that this recognition would further inspire them to continue their efforts toward educational excellence and social development. The initiative was widely appreciated by the academic community as a meaningful gesture of respect and gratitude toward teachers.
In their remarks, educationists and guests praised the Bangladesh Chatra Kallyan Trust for organizing such an event that highlights the invaluable role of teachers in shaping future generations and fostering national progress.
